Bling in the New Year with Mary Esses

New Year’s Eve happens to be the year’s most spectacular of evenings, a grand goodbye to one year and a very festive and exciting welcoming of the year to come.  One recurring trend present at every New Year’s party is sparkle, and lots of it!  From the champagne to the glittery gowns, streamers and fireworks, nothing pairs more perfectly with all the evening’s glitz and glamour than dazzling jewels.  I share with you my favorite pieces of 2013 and my very best wishes for more sparkle in the New Year!

Jingle bells - Happy Holidays from New York City!

Nothing compares to the magical feeling and excitement of Holidays spent in New York City.  Although this is my adopted home, I really love the spirit of togetherness here, where each religion is celebrated and welcomed with open arms.

During the holidays, I take my family to visit Rockefeller Center where we can watch the tree lighting and take a spin on the ice.  The ornaments on the tree make me wonder if I shouldn’t design and create some for my friends.  I have made some wonderful memories there the other year when my dear sister came to visit us from Brazil.  Here is a picture of us engaged in the spirit of the holidays in front of the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

My family also enjoys winter activities like sledding on a hill not far from where we live, and we love to play in the snow for hours and hours.

Food and celebrations are also a big part of our Holiday festivities.  We really enjoy the parties and big dinners that add such sweetness to our lives.

I make a special treat for my loved ones this time of year and I am sharing this special family recipe favorite with you:

I also would like to take this opportunity to share my very best wishes for a wonderful Holiday and a Happy New Year!
